Encounter Divine Proximity
Personal Reflection-
Today, we journey together to encounter God.
The truth of divine proximity reminds us: God is always near.
He is not distant. He is not hiding.
But sometimes—we are distracted, discouraged, or disconnected.
So today, we pause.
We turn our attention, we align our hearts, and we make space to say:
Lord, I want to be near to You.
I want to know You more deeply.
I want to encounter Your Spirit.
I want to dwell in Your presence.
This is not a pursuit of emotion—it is a pursuit of communion.
It’s not about striving harder, but about surrendering deeper.
God, we recognize that You are here.
And now—we draw near to You.
Bible Reflection
1. Psalm 27:4 (Intimacy with God)
“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”
Let this be your heart’s cry today—not just activity, but intimacy.
2. Exodus 33:14-15 (Presence over Productivity)
“And he said, ‘My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’ And he said to him, ‘If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.’”
Moses knew: God’s presence is the point. Everything else flows from it.
3. Isaiah 6:1-8 (Awe and Calling)
“I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up… And I said: ‘Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips’… Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send?’”
When we truly encounter God, we’re undone—and recommissioned.
4. John 14:21 (Love and Revelation)
“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
Obedience births manifest presence—He shows Himself to those who love and follow.
5. Acts 2:1-4 (Holy Spirit Encounter)
“When the day of Pentecost arrived… suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house… and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Be open to a fresh filling—God still moves in power and presence.
Prayer of Encounter
Encounter Morning Prayer
(based on Psalm 27, Exodus 33, Isaiah 6, John 14, Acts 2 – ESV)
Father, I come before You today with one desire:
to dwell in Your presence,
to gaze upon Your beauty,
and to hear Your voice.
I don’t want to go through the motions.
I don’t want inspiration without transformation.
If Your presence doesn’t go with me today, Lord—don’t let me move.
Anchor me in You.
Holy Spirit, I invite You.
Come like fire, come like wind,
not for signs and wonders alone,
but to refine me, renew me, and fill me.
Cleanse my lips like Isaiah,
open my ears to hear Your voice,
and when You call, I will say:
“Here I am—send me.”
Jesus, I love You.
I want to obey You more than impress You.
Manifest Yourself to me today—
not because I’m worthy, but because I’m Yours.
Let this day be holy.
Let this space be sacred.
Let my heart be open.
I’m ready to encounter You.
Amen.
