Revival Week – Healing – Night 3

Lead by Chrissy Kendrick – Vox Church

My Notes

God is Not the Author of Our Sickness—He is the Redeemer of Our Soul

“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.”
— James 5:13–16

Five Truths About Healing

  1. Healing is Biblical
    • The Bible is full of examples of God healing both the body and mind.
    • It is not selfish or fanatical to pray for miracles—healing is a part of God’s nature.
    • Everyone who came to Jesus for healing was healed.
  2. Healing is a Sign of the Kingdom of God
    • We live in the tension of the Now and Not Yet—the Kingdom of God is here, but not yet fully realized.
    • Healing is a sign of what’s to come in the fullness of the Kingdom.
    • Each miracle is a glimpse of the Kingdom breaking into the present.
  3. Faith is the Key Ingredient to Healing
    • It’s not the size of our faith—it’s the object of our faith that matters.
    • Even faith the size of a mustard seed is enough when placed in God’s hands.
  4. Preparation Matters
    • Jesus connected prayer and fasting, showing that preparing our hearts matters.
    • Surrender is required to position ourselves in weakness and need before God.
    • We need to bring our spirit into submission to God’s will through intentional preparation.
  5. You Don’t Need to Pray a Perfect Prayer
    • It’s not about the right words or formula—it’s about the power of God.
    • Approach God with honesty and humility.
    • Healing is not guaranteed to come in a specific way or time—it’s about trust, not control.

Healing is Not Our Great Hope—God Is

Healing is not proof that we are loved by God. God’s love is already proven in Christ. Even when healing does not come, His presence and redemption remain our greatest hope.
